Vibe Stints / Help
The field guide.
From your first telemetry file to a clearer view of the team’s pace.
01 / Getting started
From run to team space.
Create your team space.
Give the team a name, then copy its invite link. That link is your access—keep it in your team’s private channel and bookmark it.
Record your run.
In iRacing, use Alt + L to record disk telemetry. The
.ibtfile appears inDocuments\iRacing\telemetry.Review and save.
Open your team’s link, choose Add stint, and select or drop the
.ibt. Vibe Stints reads it on your machine. Review the driver, car, track, and laps, then save the stint and upload its telemetry.Bring the crew.
Anyone with the team link can see the saved run. Open its details to inspect the laps, compare rolling pace, or leave a note for the team.
The browser does not upload a file until you save. The optional Companion uploads finished runs automatically while it’s open and has your team link.
02 / Companion
Set it up. Get back in the car.
The Windows Companion watches your telemetry folder and uploads finished stints to your team. Its Team window shows your team’s stints in the app, so you don’t need a browser open between runs, and its in-sim overlay shows live timing and compares your pace with the team’s book.

Install and connect
- Download and run the installer. This beta build is unsigned, so Windows SmartScreen may display an “unrecognized app” notice. To continue with this download, choose More info → Run anyway.
- Settings opens the first time the Companion starts. Later, right-click its tray icon and choose Settings.
- Paste your team’s invite link, or create a new team right there. Leave the driver override blank to use the name in the telemetry. The default folder is
Documents\iRacing\telemetry. - Record a new run in iRacing. The Companion waits for the file to finish writing before uploading it.
- Click the tray icon to open your team in the Companion’s Team window. Click a “Stint uploaded” notification to jump straight to that stint.
Keep it open until your run uploads
The Companion uploads a run only if it is open when the run finishes and stays open until the run has uploaded. Each time it starts, it treats the runs already in your telemetry folder as old and doesn’t upload them. The one exception is a run whose upload failed, which gets one more try. Choosing a different telemetry folder in Settings does the same for that folder.
It doesn’t start by itself with Windows, so open Vibe Stints Companion from the Start menu before you get in the car. Its icon sits in the system tray by the clock (click ^ if you can’t see it). After you leave the car, keep the Companion and the PC on until the Stint uploaded notification appears or the run shows on your team page. Uploading starts about a minute after you leave the car, and a long run can take a few more minutes.
To restart the Companion, right-click its tray icon, choose Quit, then open it again from the Start menu.
Missed a run? Check your team’s list first, with filters cleared, so you don’t add it twice. If uploads are paused or no team link is saved, restart the Companion first so it can’t upload the same run again later. Then choose Add stint on the team page and pick the file from your telemetry folder (normally Documents\iRacing\telemetry; file names include the car, track and date). If there’s no file for that session, iRacing probably wasn’t recording telemetry. Press Alt + L once you’re in the car next time.
In the cockpit
- Ctrl + Shift + H
- Hide or show the overlay. Uploads keep running.
- Ctrl + Shift + V
- Toggle move mode to reposition the overlay.
- Ctrl + Shift + 1
- Stamp “tight” onto the current lap.
- Ctrl + Shift + 2
- Stamp “loose” onto the current lap.
- Ctrl + Shift + 3
- Stamp “check tires” onto the current lap.
The quick notes travel with the next uploaded stint. The overlay stays dark so it can sit over the sim, whichever theme you use on the website.
03 / Reading the numbers
Every lap, accounted for.
All laps are shown. Out-laps, in-laps, tows or resets, partial laps, and warmup laps are labeled and excluded from the timed average. A bad timed lap remains part of the run.
Fastest and personal best
Purple marks the fastest eligible lap. Green marks a personal best at the time it was set. The lap labels state the result as well as the color.
Best rolling pace
A rolling-pace value is the best average over that many consecutive timed laps: 3, 5, 10, and longer windows when the stint supports them. An out-lap, in-lap, tow, or reset ends the run. A window never bridges a pit stop.
Only the windows a stint reaches are shown. Short runs do not acquire long-run numbers.
Comparing drivers
Select two to six stints. Comparison rows align by timed-lap order: the first timed lap against the first timed lap, and so on. These are not necessarily the original lap numbers shown in each stint’s detail.
Average, fastest, and rolling-pace summaries help compare the whole run. A row needs at least two eligible times to have a fastest marker. Compare similar cars, tracks, and conditions to make the numbers useful.
Conditions, fuel, and seasons
Conditions and fuel appear when they are available in the telemetry. Use the team’s units control to switch between US and metric. The season filter groups session dates into approximate calendar seasons.
04 / Your team and your data
A shared link. A shared log.
Team access
There are no accounts or individual roles. Anyone holding your team’s invite link can access and change the team space. Share it only with your crew. The roster is a list of names, not a permissions list.
Leaving or switching teams
There is no account to close. The Companion sends each run to the team link saved in its Settings when the upload starts.
To leave a team, right-click the Companion’s tray icon, choose Settings, delete everything in the Team invite link box and choose Save. The Team window closes and nothing more is uploaded, though an upload already under way finishes. The Settings window briefly says it is watching for stints, but without a link nothing is sent.
To switch teams, wait until your last run has uploaded, then paste the new team’s link in its place and choose Save. To start a brand-new team instead, delete the link, choose Save, then open Settings again and use New team? Create it here.
While no team link is saved, the Companion holds on to any runs you finish and uploads them to the next team link you save. To keep those runs off a new team, restart the Companion before you paste the new link (see Keep it open), or keep it closed while you’re between teams.
On the website there’s nothing to sign out of: stop using the link and delete your bookmark. On a shared computer, also clear vibestints.com from the browser’s history and site data.
Leaving doesn’t remove what you already shared. Your stints and roster name stay with the old team. Community sharing is paused, so they aren’t shown to other teams. If you want your stints removed, delete them from the team page before you stop using the link. Deleting can’t be undone, so tell your team first. Later, a teammate can delete them, or you can email us. You can also ask us to remove your roster name (see Deleting records).
Leaving doesn’t cancel the link: anyone who still has it, including you, can open the team. A team’s link can’t be changed, so if it has spread beyond your crew, email us (see Deleting records).
Raw telemetry retention
Raw downloads expire seven days after upload completes. Disk cleanup runs every six hours; physical removal can take longer during failures, but expired files cannot start a new download. A download started before expiry may finish. Stint and lap records have no automatic age-based expiry and remain until removed. Download raw files before expiry if needed for MoTeC i2; Mu can convert them for i2.
The parser skips setup fields, but the original .ibt can contain setup and other session information. Every team-link holder can download that original while available. Upload only information you are authorized to share.
Community pool
Paused. Community sharing is changing so each driver decides for themselves whether their stints are shared with other teams and whether their name is shown. For now, other teams can’t see your team’s stints, and you can’t see theirs. While sharing is paused, the team sharing switch is hidden and nothing is shared, whichever way it was set; a team that had it on can still turn it off. Nothing changes inside your team right now: your team still sees and compares all of its own stints.
Before the pause, sharing was off by default and reciprocal, and any invite-link holder could turn it on for the whole team. Other sharing teams could see driver name, car, track, session date, record timestamp, lap counts, average and best pace, lap order and type, and lap times, but never raw telemetry, notes, fuel, conditions, the team name or the invite link. Copies other teams already obtained cannot be recalled. Drivers can ask us about their records directly (see Deleting records).
Deleting records and resolving link issues
Deleting a stint removes its active laps, note and attached raw file. It cannot be undone in the app and does not remove the separate roster name or instantly erase backup copies. There is no self-service roster/whole-team deletion or link rotation.
For driver, roster, whole-team, lost/exposed-link or privacy requests, email hello@vibewrightlabs.com with the team/driver name, relevant stint IDs or dates, and desired change. Do not initially send your invite link or raw telemetry. We will assess identity and authority before changes affecting others. Request process · Retention and backups.
05 / Back on track
When something needs a check.
I can’t find our team.
Open the complete invite link from your team’s private channel or your bookmarks. There is no email sign-in. A “No team at this link” message means the link may be wrong or the team may have been removed.
A new run is missing from the list.
Clear the car, track, and season filters first. For the Companion, check these:
- It was open when the run finished and stayed open, with the PC on, until the run uploaded (usually a minute or two after you left the car). Runs that finished while it was closed are treated as old when it starts.
- Uploads weren’t paused. Right-click the tray icon: if the menu shows Resume uploads, they are paused. Runs that finish while paused upload when you choose Resume uploads. But pause stays on after a restart, and if the Companion was paused when it started, anything that finished before you resumed is treated as old and won’t upload.
- The team link and telemetry folder in Settings are right. Fixing the folder doesn’t upload runs already in it; add those with Add stint.
If the run is still missing and uploads were paused or no link was saved, restart the Companion first. Then add the run with Add stint on the team page.
The stint saved, but the file didn’t upload.
The lap record and raw telemetry upload are separate steps. If the page offers a telemetry retry, use it to attach the file to the saved stint. You do not need to create the same stint again.
The browser can’t read my file.
Choose an iRacing .ibt disk telemetry file and let iRacing finish writing it. Other file formats are not accepted. Re-select the completed file to try again.
My Companion upload failed.
Check your connection and the team link in Settings, then restart the Companion to re-attempt failed files. Check the team log before adding the run manually, in case the stint saved but its raw file did not attach.
